How the domain age checker works
We look the domain up in RDAP, the registry protocol that replaced WHOIS. It returns the date the domain was first registered, when it expires, the registrar and its status codes, such as a transfer lock.
Check the domain’s history too
Age tells you when a domain was registered, not how it was used. Before buying an aged or expired domain, open its Wayback Machine archive (linked in the results) to check for spam, adult or pharma use, and review its backlinks. Our expired domains go through that check before we list them.

How do I check how old a domain is?
Enter it above. We read the registration date from the official registry (RDAP) and calculate the age in years and days.
Does domain age matter for SEO?
Not directly. Older domains are valuable when they come with a clean history and real backlinks, not because of the date itself.
What if the domain was dropped and re-registered?
The registry shows the latest registration date. The Wayback Machine shows earlier use, which is why we link to it.
Why can’t I see the owner?
Most registries redact personal owner data for privacy. Registrar, dates and status are still public.
